Division Road Gets Dapper in Dobby with Gitman Bros. Vintage

In a niche where texture reigns supreme, it’s surprising we don’t see more dobby. And no, not the heroic house elf from Harry Potter — dobby fabrics, of course! The dobby loom can introduce all sorts of shapes and textures into a fabric by raising and lowering warp yarns during weaving, which is the kind of magic that’s sprinkled into this shirt by Gitman Bros.Vintage & Division Road.

Made in the USA, this collaborative effort between shirting legends Gitman Bros. Vintage and Virginia retailer, Division Road, is made from a 87/13 cotton/linen dobby cloth from Japan. Woven on a dobby loom from slub yarns, this 3.5 oz. fabric is lightweight but heavy on texture with its jacquard multi-dimensional weave and tonal stripes.

The shirt comes in an exclusive-to-Division Road silhouette with a less dramatic hem sweep and a tailored cut, designed to be ‘just right’ in all departments. But when it comes to details, all the Gitman calling cards are out in force like chalk buttons, locker loop, box pleats for articulation, and horizontal green thread on the last buttonhole. As with most Division Road collabs, numbers are limited, so think fast if you want to add a breezy, three-dimensional button-down to your shirting arsenal this summer.

Available for $245, exclusively from Division Road.
