Studio D’Artisan’s G3 Denim Is Back With The SD-901

We’ve been harping on about raw denim since 2011, but Studio D’Artisan has been around since the late seventies. Something that has been part of the Japanese denim giant’s success is the brand’s famed G3 denim, and this fabric is back once again with the SD-901 G3 jeans.

Studio D’Artisan’s 14 oz. G3 denim is woven on Japan’s oldest shuttle loom, the Toyoda G3. This illustrious machine produces raw selvedge denim with an uneven hand due to its notoriously clunky nature that leads to charming defects in the weave. In layman’s terms, it’s authentic and really, really sick.

The SD-901 regular straight cut with all the classic quality that SDA has always delivered. Crafted from the aforementioned G3 denim the SD-901 G3 comes sans arctuates and one-washed to minimize shrinkage. The indigo hue on these bad boys is accomplished by rope-dyeing the yarns prior to weaving, and the jeans are topped off with hidden rivets on the rear pockets, and a beautiful SDA waist patch.

Available for $272 from Blue in Green
