Fade Friday – Himel Bros. Avro Custom (1 Year)

Rarely do we get to see what a $2.5k jacket looks like after a year of wear. But, thanks to Michael in North Carolina, we’ve got a leather jacket from one of the best makers in the game for this edition of Fade Friday. For just over a year this customized Himel Shinki Horsehide has been Michael’s second skin, sopping up everything that life has thrown at him and converting it into one of a kind patina and fit.

There comes a point in heritage fashion — or should I say price point — where you want to treat pieces as gingerly as possible because of how much you spent. This is understandable but the irony is, these pieces were meant to be punished. So instead of tiptoeing around in the strongest clothes in the world, after you buy a piece, don’t care, just wear.

That’s what Michael did. Be like Mike. Wearing his leather jacket hard throughout the year in all weather, without a care in the world has led to toasted brown hues, deep sleeve whiskering, and a general shape that has obviously molded right to Michael’s body.
