Fade of the Day – BNV 13.5 oz. Japanese Denim (13 Months, 3 Washes, 1 Soak)

Indonesia and faded raw denim go hand in hand, and for today’s Fade of the Day, we have a heavy dose of both with this pair of 13.5 oz. Japanese Denim from the now-discontinued BNV. Sent in by Haikal Attamim, this pair of BNVs has been sculpted by daily wear and motorcycling Indonesia’s humid summer months.

Haikal has only worn these jeans for a year. He sea-washed them after 8 months of wear and has only washed them a few other times. As a result, two crotch blow outs occurred and needed repairs, but that didn’t stop Haikal from fixing them and continuing to wear them as usual. The whiskering in the lap, thighs, and knees is nicely contrasted, as are the heavily stacked honeycombs in the knees. There is noticeable distressing in the knees and seat showing nice pops of the underlying white denim. With only a year on the books and a great deal of indigo left, there is a lot of room for even more drastic fading.
