Fade of the Day – A.P.C. Petit New Standard (~3 Years, 3 Washes, 3 Soaks)

It’s undeniable that A.P.C.‘s reputation in Fade-Land is well deserved, as we can clearly see with today’s Fade of the Day. Dennis Lu of the United States sent in his pair of A.P.C. Petit New Standards that have been worn for over three years and look like they have some stories to tell.

Dennis bought this pair three years ago and had them tapered down, effectively getting rid of the selvedge aspect, but he created a pair that fit him just right, so the raw denim would fade to his liking. There is some serious indigo loss in the lap and seat where A.P.C.’s infamous white denim base aggressively shows through. The honeycombing is intense and leads into some nice stacking in the ankles. They say thick thighs save lives, but in Dennis’s case, all the squatting and gains caused a serious crotch blow out. Until he repairs them, the blow out will help ventilate his skin-tight raws.
