Fade of the Day – Rogue Territory SK (7 Years, Unknown Washes)

Sent in by Jacob Fry in the UK, this pair of Rogue Territory SK’s are best summed up as “thrashed”. Seven years of wear have not only created some exceptional fades, but also a boat load of distressing, blow-outs, and repairs.

Indigo has leeched out in a nicely varied manor, creating some excellent gradation throughout all sections of the jean. The lower leg has perhaps the most indigo saturation left to it in comparison to all other areas of the jean, but this only highlights the nice (and very tall) stacks. Behind the knee are honeycombs, which at a distance look like ripples in water due to their tight configuration towards the center. There’s clear signs of what once were whiskers at the lap, but those have mostly faded away sans a couple fade shadows here and there.

What’s completely impossible to miss in these SK’s are all the repairs keeping them going. The darning at the knee alone makes this jean look like it could have been labored over by the distressing artisans at the Kapital factory. I also spy multiple patch jobs, blow-out repairs (look like 3 separate jobs?), frayed edges all over, and even reinforcement by what looks like canvas on the interior. Front to back, inside to outside, this pair has had maintenance to nearly every area of the pants possible. Oh, the stories these jeans must hold. Nice work Jacob!
