Whitesville Heavy Weight Thermal Lined Zippered Hoodie

For those not in the know, Whitesville is the basics-focused knitwear line from Toyo, the Japanese company that does the more well-known Sugar Cane and Buzz Rickson brands. Both lines are known for their high-quality versions of classics — mainly denim for Sugar Cane and American military garb for Buzz Rickson — with an update made here and there, and Whitesville sticks to the Toyo mold.

The ultra heavyweight hoodie is made from 100% cotton and has been further fortified for warmth with thermal lining through the body, which solves a legit layering issue:  putting a hoodie on over a thermal isn’t as easy as it should be. The thermal annoyingly (and inevitably) bunches up, so combining the two is a pretty clutch move on Whitesville’s part. The four-needle Union Special flat seamed construction will attract those looking for extra sturdiness, as well as those concerned by sewing machine particulars alike. A Universal brand vintage-style zipper is there for the zipping and the panache of a made-in-Japan pedigree rounds things out. It’s a hoodie, but even warmer.
