Fade Friday – Iron Heart 634S (5.5 Years, Unknown Washes)

It’s Friday, Fade Friday. This week, we have a pair of Iron Heart 23oz. Raw Unsanforized 634’s from Bhisma Diandra, which have lasted five-and-a-half years in the sweltering heat and humidity of Indonesia, where fade dreams really do come true.

Bhisma wears his denim while he working as a photographer, and also while he travels, bikes and shoots the breeze with friends. Because he likes the way the denim looks with more of its natural color showing, he washes them a ton. But despite all that washing, some vibrant contrasting has taken hold between the whiskers in the thigh and knee and some nice tight honeycombs are coming in around back. He also has some nice track fades taking shape and even some signs of subtle stacking.

The standout feature with this pair, however, is that heavy indigo-loss from heavy use, which created large swaths of the bare white slubby denim that, when contrasted with what is left of the indigo, gives them a nice vintage look. Because of the heavy weight and stitching, no repairs have been needed, which means Bhisma has plenty more chances for fades and photo shoots.
