Fade of the Day – 3Sixteen ST-101X (2.5 Years, 0 Washes, 6 Soaks)

Today’s Fade Of The Day focuses on a pair of 3sixteen ST-101Xs, owned by Dick Todd in Mertle Beach, SC. Dick’s working on becoming a member of the 3-and-0 club, ranks entered after a three-year denim run with no washes on record—and his jeans certainly look the part. Dick says he’s “worn the hell out of them” and, after giving these a thorough inspection, we have to say that we concur.

The front shows a good amount of contrast between the indigo retention at the shin and its depletion up top, which only underscores the nice whiskers poking through, particularly at the crotch in an almost uniformly horizontal array. Subtle pocket-bag fades, which you don’t always come across, are highlighted by a rip on each side, which could make for a sweet repair job down the line. Around back, more uniform fades serve as a backdrop for crisp honeycombs and some back pocket distressing.

Dick’s a Cubs fan, sowe’re sure he spilled a little beer on these during the World Series, and a lot more once they clinched it (that Game 7 though…). Hope he’s given these at least one soak since then!
