The love affair between raw denim and leather seems to be everlasting, and whenever they’re together, great things happen. Heddels reader Stephen Humberstone, from the U.K., has both denim fades and patina in one small package with this Nudie iPhone 5 wallet, earning him today’s Fade Of The Day.

After two years of daily use, the leather has developed some crazy patina, evolving from its original natural tone into an almost beetroot-red color. The denim may not have faded how raw denim jeans would, but it’s certainly showing visible signs of ageing, in the gnarly fraying and faint outline of the smartphone.

It may be showing some signs of damage, but Stephen tells us this wallet has already outlived the original phone it was bought for. And with the notoriously fragile nature of today’s smartphones, some repairs could probably allow it to outlast another three.
