Fade Friday – Oldblue Co. 19 oz. Plain Selvedge (1 Year, 5 Washes, 7 Soaks)

When fades like this hit our inbox, there’s only one place they belong: Fade Friday. We have become accustomed to seeing impressive, high-contrast fades coming from Indonesia, but this pair of Oldblue Co. 19 oz. Plain Selvedge, submitted by Heddels reader Anggi Firmansyah, are on another level.

Oldblue Co. prides itself on being “tailored for hard workers”, and from what we can see here, it would have certainly taken some hard work to create these crispy fades after just 11 months. The whiskers reach down to the knee, and below that, we have some rippling stacks. What’s so interesting about these jeans is the high-definition in every crease, especially those sharp, stacked honeycombs. The seat has totally faded out, and the patch looks to have gained some nice patina.

It’s hard to imagine how the fades could get much better on these Oldblues, but with five washes and seven soaks recorded, and no repairs needed as of yet, it’s clear that Anngi knows how to look after his denim. Hopefully we get an update in another year’s time.
