Howlin’ Gets All Jazzy Grandpa With Their Latest Cardigan

If it wasn’t for the well-curated record store component to Howlin’s website, I likely would have thought that them naming this cable knit cardigan the “Freedom Jazz Band” was a bit of a stretch—if not a bit cheeky— because this classic piece of menswear conjures images of Bing Crosby and Mr. Rogers far more than it does the Sun Ra Arkestra, The Art Ensemble Of Chicago, or Cecil Taylor or, let alone the very much forward reaching costumes they wore on and off stage. (I’m particularly a fan of Cecil’s look – he often looked like he just got back from running for his life. Escape From New York for real. But I digress.)

Crafted in Ireland from 100% wool yarns, the cardigan has swinging metal buttons, a cozy shawl neck and ribbing at the cuffs and hem, and it’s also outfitted . with two front pockets for your tuning forks and guitar picks.

Available for 217 British Pounds over at Kafka.
